The actress, Pérola, 22, from upper middle class Rio de Janeiro and with strong social commitment, and the banker, Wellington, 24, born in the Vidigal favela and an advocate for meritocracy, meet by chance at a bookstore in Leblon. During an ideological dispute, they exchange verbal jabs.
A series of coincidences leads them to run into each other more times and examine the first impression they had of each other. If at first he judged her as spoiled and naive, in the end he ends up recognizing her generosity and learning from her. And she, who judged him as selfish and insensitive, understands that she doesn’t know the reality from which he came from and has no right to judge him.
And when they find themselves in the middle of a crossfire in Morro do Vidigal, where she does volunteer work and he often visits his mother, they realize that maybe they have a lot more in common than they thought.
